Inclusion Base Lead for Complex Communication Needs Base

Responsible to - Inclusion Lead / SENDCo

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable SEN specialist with current expertise and qualifications in CCN/ASC to lead our CCN provision within our Mainstream Middle School. We are looking for someone with a wealth of SEN knowledge and experience to lead our base of 10 pupils. The right candidate does not have to have a teaching qualification, but experience working with pupils with ASC and special educational needs is a must. We are seeking a professional with an attitude and approach that always puts the needs of the child first; someone who can display unconditional positive regard for children and face challenges with resilience. 

Working under the direction of the school’s Senior Leadership Team and in partnership with a range of external professionals, you will be the lead person for the 10 wonderful pupils who attend our provision.  You will design the individual learning plans and timetables for the pupils and will be ably supported by a team of Teaching Assistants to ensure the children make fantastic all-round progress.  The main goal of our base provision is to support the pupils to integrate into their mainstream classroom, and the wider life of the school, as appropriate.

We are striving to make our base a place for the pupils to thrive and access their full potential within a mainstream school.

  • have proven experience of working with children who have CCN and/or ASC and/or SEMH needs
  • can work well as part of a team AND lead a team

Cover Supervisor
Hours - 32.5 per week
Pay - £13.05 per hour
Fixed term until July 2026
Start date - ASAP

St Mary’s CE Middle School has an exciting job opportunity to join our vibrant and exciting school, which is part of the Wessex Multi-Academy Trust.

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our team.  This role is demanding and fast paced and will primarily be classroom based.  The Cover Supervisor will supervise and support pupils who are engaged in learning activities during the short-term or unforeseen absence of their usual class or subject teacher.

The successful candidate will be able to manage a classroom learning environment and have the ability to manage pupil’s behavior.

There will be a requirement to provide cover on the playground for part of the lunchbreak.

The role is for 32.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday, on a fixed term basis, which will be kept under review.
